Surfcorders are designed to operate in skidless mode  to measure straightness and curved surfaces,   inbuilt levelling filters make the procedure very simple..

The illustration shows the AG5  stylus measuring  roughness over a curved component. This stylus type AG5 is also used for grooves and recess applications  down to 8mm depth and 1.5mm wide.

Special deep or long styli are made to customer request.
