View Article  Surfcorder DSF500 digital contour and roughness measurement.

The Surfcorder DSF500 is based on original Kosaka technology and offers the users exceptional versatility not normally found in traditional instruments where a very wide dynamic range is coupled with very high resolution. This dynamic combination means one scan of a surface allows measurement of both surface roughness and contour into the nano.  This is ideal for very complex parts combining rouughness with shahpe such as bearing rings and lens.  The outstanding resolutions are as follows, Z 0.0075um/5mm or 0.012um/8mm, the systems allows calculates a  full range of roughness and waviness parameters with macro analysis controls.

The new Kosaka ET-3000 Surfcordere fills the gap between ordinary high performance laboratory surface profilers and highly advanced nano 3D analysers like the ET-4000.

Features include automated meaurement with inbuilt levelling  for reliable measurements into the low nanometer range with resolutions in sub nanometers.  The fully enclosed ET-3000 also has a unique pick-up force controller so very soft materials may be 2D analysed for step height, flatness and roughness profile.

The ET-3000 instrument meets the micro-electronics, plastics and high tech'  industries which require highly accurate  microfigure 2D surface profile measurement.

The following attachment gives a brief instrument specification.

The Surfcorder ET-4000 sets the standard when it comes to measuring 2Dand 3D surface profiles in the  sub nanometer range. This fully enclosed Surfcorder instrument incorporates a traversing table with the highest  mechanical accuracy, the stylus with Kosaka force control and PC controlled analyser measure to resolutions of 0.1Nm with repeatability better than 0.5Nm.

The ET-4000 profiler has features and specification which is hard to match in the field of surface metrology.  A direct acting stylus and pick-up with variable force from 0.5uN to 500uN allows  even very soft surface to be measured with great accuracy.

The 2 pictures to the right  show inside the ET-4000 and view of the operation of stylus by video monitor.
